The Ovarian Cancer Circle/Inspired By Robin Babbini

LIVESTREAM

The next scheduled livestream:

THE OVARIAN CANCER CIRCLE, a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, is committed to creating an ever-expanding ring of networking, education and support for women of all ages, their extended families and friends who are affected by ovarian cancer.

THE CIRCLE is dedicated to funding research that will promote and sustain a national dialogue which will lead to a cure for ovarian cancer. Building a strong coalition of doctors, researchers, counselors, families and volunteers will forge a powerful community, creating strength and hope and empowerment.

Paulinda Schimmel Babbini had owned an independent digital imaging business for over 40 years. She is originally from Valley Stream, NY and came to Los Angeles in 1975.

As a mother of two beautiful children, her life was turned upside down in 2004 when her 17 year old daughter, Robin was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Robin vigorously fought the battle but lost her dynamic life just 2 ½ years after her diagnosis. She died at the young age of 20!

To honor Robin’s memory and shine a light on her legacy, Paulinda founded the non profit, The Ovarian Cancer Circle/Inspired By Robin Babbini.

It is her life’s passion and commitment to heighten awareness of the signs and symptoms to the community, particularly young women. She has committed enormous efforts to fundraising, organizing seminars, women’s conferences and health fairs.

THE CIRCLE has achieved increasing public civic recognition. Paulinda has been honored with a “Women in Leadership Award” by the City of West Hollywood; KNX Radio “Hero of the Week”; and a “Certificate of Appreciation & Recognition” by the City of Los Angeles.

Moreover, in September 2017, The CIRCLE attained a ‘first-ever’ milestone: The City of Los Angeles proclaimed Sept. 19, 2017 as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day.

And just last month Los Angeles City Hall, the City of West Hollywood’s City Hall & the LAX pylons were illuminated in TEAL, the designated color for ovarian cancer.
