Gail’s creative and artistic background was nourished at an early age by the influences of her creative and supportive parents and grandparents. Even while pursuing her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, she simultaneously designed and published sweater patterns for three yarn companies in the 1980’s. While raising three children, she branched out her design interests to begin designing bridal headpieces and veils over the next several decades, selling both through her own company and through bridal shops, dress designers and Macy’s. Her next foray was lampwork glass bead making and jewelry design, which led to a business designing and selling colored glass for bead making artists. She has now circled back to fiber arts and a passion for color, and embraced hand dyeing, weaving and incorporating the cloth into special pieces. She also is exploring the art of Ebru/water marbling.
